Lookin to get HID for a 95 civic. Wondering what will look nicer and be the cheapest way to get it done. A retrofit or a projector kit off ebay. Also 4300k or 600k? Let me know

A retrofit will always look nicer, and have a true cut off since it uses lenses designed for HIDs. IMO, if you're not gonna retrofit then don't bother. I'll thank you too for not blinding me on the road with a drop in kit.

Check out customlightz.com, they do excellent work and have great customer service.

I've never actually seen a retrofit. What's the average cost of doing it and 4300k is that what comes stock on the Acura TL's?

4300K is stock for all OEM equipments.

You need projectors to to HIDs... otherwise, it's crap.

I retrofitted TSX projectors recently.

TSX and s2000 projectors are apparently the best bang for the buck. A good retrofit at that site will cost around 1000 if you provide your own headlights.

:werd:

NSX headlights are also very good projectors and you can get a used set for about 100-200 bucks.

I've heard Audi HIDs are very good too.

what is a "retro-fit"?

I had frosted lenses, but switched them put for projectors, and was thinking of getting some HID's. Is this any different than a retro-fit?

How do you figure?

HIDs done right (that's the important part) are one of the best safety mods you can make...
