The new world's fastest car is a dodge..lol

http://www.motorauthority.com/news/motorsport/hennessey-viper-passes-veyron-as-world%e2%80%99s-fastest-car/

But this shouldn't count because its modified whereas the Veyron is a ull production car only.

but meh.. who gives a shite

Wow they changed alot on that car. Still looks fuckin amazing though. So if i save 225 each cheque x 26 paydays in a year thats 5850 a year. So in 38.5 years i could afford that car with my current lifestyle! Sweet

I'd hate to experience 255mph in a Viper... how much did Hennesey put into aerodynamics testing at that speed? Or even find tires designed to run at that speed? ;)

Apparently Bugatti has a counter measure.

they did something to the aerodynamics, that front bumper is way different then the stock one... pokes out a lot for downforce I guess, it looks kind of like a steamshovel now

but man that is a nice car

nice muscular looking car, but if it took bugatti several years to perfect the stability of the veyron at 255mph, i too don't think it'd be much fun driving that viper at those speeds

It's not just the amount of raw downforce. At that speeds, df changes when there's suspension movement when rideheight changes caused by even a small bump, or a small turn in the road can be hazardous to your health ;).

Remember the flat bottomed Porsche GT1's and CLK GTR's flipping at lemans? They had a lot of raw downforce too. If there's enough movement where the front lifts momentarily (say flooring it at 220mph and weight transfers back right on the edge of elevation change on the road), all of a sudden, the downforce inducing gear up front changes angles, reducing df significantly. The flat bottom all of a sudden has changed angles enough that creates lift... and we have a flying Viper. Just saying at 250mph plus there's enough wind velocity to do very very interesting things.

Here's to hoping the tube chassis holds up in an aerial crash at 250 :D

I think I would spend most of my time cruising at 200 rather then going balls out at 250. 200 would be easy peasy in that car, but if I ever had to make a panic stop I'd be screwed since the back end on the Viper gets reaaaal light under hard braking.

Does it have a better-than-a-Neon stereo, or is that an option?

:werd:

The car is tight don't get me wrong, but it seems to me that they built this car with the mindset of beating an oponents time rather than the opponents car... i can just see the Viper's floorpan fly off trying to go 255mph :burnout:

Shiet, those twin turbos could fuck up the intake manifold and at 260mph, you don't want your floor pan falling out!
