i think we all recall that black honda civic dx hatchback that was able to kepe up with the viper.

i have a question. but like the exaust systems...if the smaller the exaust wouldn't that like restric the flow? isn't that why people get like 3-4 inch exaust tips? i dunno i hope you ugys understand what i mean..

I believe that muffler was just there for looks and wasn't hooked up.

so he had a hidden exaust coming out from some where? but he just hung on the stock one to give it a 'sleeper' look?

so what exactly is a straight pipe? sorry im still learning..

and if he had no exaust wouldn't it be the same thing if he just hooked it right up to the stock exaust?

i thought he just had a pipe underneath that was not connected to any muffler.

i'm not sure what you mean here bout the no exhaust thing. if you meant the stock dx muffler, if he did hook that up he would have a lot more back pressure and restricted flow.

if the car is NA, then you need an exhaust. Hondas need backpressure. But since the car is turbo'd, that means the more flow the better! So no pipe is better than any pipe! haha.

Just run a short lenght of pipe back from the header and put a down turn onto the end so you aren't sucking fumes. Hard to get less restrictive than that

I think he may also have had a exhuast bypass. its like open headers. a slider that is electronically controlled and can be opened(open headers) or closed (normal exhaust) when ever you want. He probably ran the stock exhaust for daily shit and opened it up when he wanted to race. I've seen them a few times.

People refer to those as "cutouts" too.

Ya, that was cheesefrogs car on honda-tech. He is running an electric valve that opens his downpipe right below the turbo. But that is not really why his car can keep up to a viper
