Accident: Neon on Glenmore

[JC Civic]

Just got back from Gobalfest fireworks, around 10:30pm I saw an accident on the ramp coming off Deerfoot on to Glenmore heading west. A late model silver Neon with black graphics, HID (not sure if it's a SRT-4) hanging off the rail. A red Cobalt SS was stopped there too. Anybody know what happened or if these guys are on this board? Hope the driver of the Neon is okay, I think the Neon might have taken the ramp a little too fast and his car couldn't hadle the corner and he lost control. But that's just my guess.

This is a good friend of mine and its pretty sad that all you THINK you know what happened. I nearly lost two friends last night but luckly he didn't go over the guard rail other than that this accident could have been alot worse than it was.

Its incredible how quick everyone is judge yet they no nothing about the facts.

Him and his girlfriend are shook up but who wouldn't be?

This was not an accident caused by speeding or careless driving.

He is one of the safest drivers I know.

The maturity that was shown last night was unbelievable, cars slowing down yelling obsenities and telling him to learn how to drive, get a better car. Wow!

I hope that no one else I know ever has to go through that. He definetly had someone looking out for him.

Fuck that, Thursday I saw him racing a M3 down Crowchild, then he kept driving by my window and letting the BOV rip like he was trying to either impress me (the novelty of such a loud BOV wore off after his first flyby) or race me

He was going pretty fast. I think its hilarious his car is all bent up now. He was doing the weave hard, he pinned it and passed a bunch of people and cut hard in at the light just before the University road (?? ave) and then did it again at the turnoff just before the McMahon lights (this one is only about 100 feet long and ends just before a set of traffic lights). Not a safe driver, from what I've seen.

edit: I guess I should add it would have sucked if he got hurt, but since he didn't he gets to learn the very important lesson of "slow the fuck down", and this was at roughly 6:15 on a Thursday so the traffic was thick

now, i have no idea what was said about me or my car because all of the posts have been deleted. if you think i'm "H'core" or all "Blingin" because i have a well done up neon srt-4. You are sadly mistaken.

1. My car is visually a prime target for cops. I don't need to draw more attention by speeding.

2. "take it to the track" - whoever said that has no idea what happened so if you would like to know. I WAS ALONE on the street (with my girlfriend who is on crtches at the moment) i would be stupid to speed.

3. For the girl who told me that she was not going to make a big deal out of this to the "timmie's crew" TO MY FACE. when your truck is fliped over in the ditch and the only one there to save your ass is me. i will stare you in the face and laugh as the rest of you have done. (i do not wish this upon my worse enemy)

i hope you can all understand that I WAS NOT speeding and something mechanical happened to my car. do not judge, because it starts unwanted wars that most cannot finish.

What snapped? your car is brand new. Its not like the steering rack suddenly dropped out the bottom of your car. You idiot. Both your wheels are on straight. Nothing happened. You fucked up, thats all.

Nothing to do with Neons, I like SRT-4s and my car has a Neon drivetrain in it. Its all about the driver here.

First the car is a couple of years old, but then how would you know that. Thats right you don't know him!!!!

There are many things that can go that can cause a car to lose its steering abilities.

Go take a drive by and see how long the skid marks are. They are not that long maybe a car length straight across the road that lead up to the guardrail.

Its amazing that I have read posts about other members doing much worse ie drinking and driving and causing an accident. Yet everyone supports him.

An SRT-4 owner has a mechianal issue with his car and BAM - the hate comes on.

One question - did he hurt or kill anyone? NO!!

So unless you were there and witnessed it and have talken to him STOP assuming that you know what happened!!!!

he is a good buddy of mine and was not driving fast. And any one else who disagrees needs to go fuck them self.

Something to do with his power steering went wrong and lost control while making a turn. He is awaiting the dealership to figure it out.

My brothers power steering failed as we pulled into a crappy tire a few months back, (also causing a small fire because all of the fluid hit his downpipe) I hate to think what could have happened if we were doing highway speed.
So in other words give the guy a break, he may not have been fooling around.

I know the owner of the SRT-4 and I'd vouch that he's a safe and good driver. He's the type of guy that'd give you the shirt off his back. Thankfully, both him and his girl aren't badly hurt.

when i see him down deerfoot or around the NW he does try to race you.
ok so he had a steering problem fine.thats shitty to hear and hope the dealership can help him.
