I am wondering why you are contradicting yourself. You say you want something for all year, yet you are wanting to get an S2000 which is one of the worst winter cars you could find.

Good luck, and I hope you get a beater to go along with that S2k, you will need it!!!

Funny that you say that since obviously you haven't driven a S2000 in the winter. 50/50 balance my friend, with winter tires, you can smoke SUVs.

240's have a 50/50 weight distribution and wasn't the greatest to drive, I know from personal experience. I would of rather had a WRX or pathfinder 4x4 for sure. But you get used to it really really fast.

SilverStreak

I don't think 240s have 50/50, if they did, they wouldn't drift so easily. Isn't it more like 42/58?

I HAVE driven an S2000 in the winter and it was not any fun at all. Basically it is a snow plow because of it being so low, also it is not great at handling on the roads even with winter tires.

A light weight, high horsepower roadster is not a great winter car. The S2000 would be comparable to the 300zx for winter, so why not save yourself the hassle and just buy some winter rubber.

I would beg to differ. I've had no problem, driving mine for 5 winters now, everyday.

The S handles just fine, and is a whole lot more fun than driving a FWD car for sure in the winter.

Mine has never been a snow plow and this year I will drive with it lowered this winter as well.

If you have problems driving the S in the winter than I would say you need to work on your driving, no offense.

A stock S2000 has in excess of 5" of ground clearance at its lowest point. With snow tires, it can easily out maneuver any AWD car with all season radials. Ground clearance only becomes an issue if you don't know how to negotiate deep rutted side streets. It is not an issue, even with soft snow as deep as 18". Don't confuse the S2000s snow capabilities with your lack of driving skill in such conditions. There are many, many examples of S2000s in Calgary and all across Canada, that are daily driven all winter long. Just because you may have driven an S2000 with snow tires once, does not indicate the car's winter prowess, only your driving ability in the given situation.
The worse possible RWD car for snow conditions would be one that is front heavy. Take a look at the cop cars and the taxicabs in this city that are driven all winter long and they have ALL SEASON radials. Would you like to tell all those cops and cab drivers they should stay home just because their cars are UN-driveable? It's the driver and how the car is equipped, not the car.
Your last statement about getting winter rubber for the Z, I can fully agree with. The 2 cars are similar in winter driving configuration. No point in getting an S2000 if he doesn't think he can drive a Z all winter long. I used to drive a Vette all winter long with snow tires. Never a problem. I would have driven my Viper, too, except that no snow tires were available in that size.

I had a '67 Mustang with a 40/60 wt. dist., 390 cu. in. V-8 crushing the front tires into the ground. Daily drove it for 5 winters with snow tires. Plowed snow everywhere I went. No biggie.

That's NOT what he posted. He said he wanted a car he could use year round. Then he goes on to say he would take an S2000. Setting the record straight is NOT bickering. That's ON to topic as the OP took this thread. Helping him understand what he's getting himself into is such a bad thing?

Of course I put kms on the car, sorry typo. Can u guys please stick to topic im trying to sell my car not trying to prove my self innocent? I work at a Honda dealer ship and i know of some one that drives his s2000 in winter. He said he has no problem what so ever. Difference in driving 300zx and s2000 in winter is the TURBOS. u have to warm up your car way longer, to have it run smooth. With a N/A 4 banger it’s like driving another civic, integra, crv, ect.
I also drove a 240sx with a sr20, it was horrible in winter, even in rain, and I can not see how u can compare it with an s2000.

also thanks for sticking up for the s2000 (SilverStreak)
