Well according to the BBC (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/4798965.stm) up to 15,000 tonnes have been spilled.There are roughly 7-8 barrels per M. tonne, and 42 gallons per barrel. 15,000T = 5 Million gallons

During the Gulf War, Iraq purposely dumped between 200-300 million tonnes of oil into the Persion gulf..

More recently the greek owned "Prestige", carrying 20 million gallons (70,000 metric tons) of fuel oil broke up off the Spanish coast, when the Spanish government ordered the failing tanker towed from its territorial waters..

I remember both of those events... which are far worse than this one.. but go ahead and pick on the Jews Toma they are used to it.

Well we are going to convenviently forget about that event and just concentrate on what happened within the past month as most people here seem to do that when analyzing the conflicts in the middle east.
But if you really want to go off topic the worst spill ever was from the 'Haven' off the coast of Italy and France, the oil spilt and burned in Iraq and Kuwait, see it was bad, but different, formerly tyrannical US backed Iraqi govt used it as a defense strategy and the insurgents sabatoging the pipelines today is a mere act of not letting their oil getting stolen by the coalition, Im not condoning the actions but neither do I for modern day colonialism<- which I find worse than environmental disasters.

Now back on topic the satanic act of the oil purposely spilt in Lebanon was said to be up to 30'000 tonnes not 15.
And its different because the Israeli govt knew what they were doing and knew of the consequences, and well they didnt do it to themselves they did it to their neighbour whilst they occupied their country. Now we can also mention in this story how Kuwait was sending in a team to help clean up this mess and how the Israeli govt prevented the clean up by preventing anyone to come near it.
By the way it wasnt between 200 and 300 million tonnes in the gulf the figure was downgraded to between 24 and 60 million way to only present some of the information Im a big boy now I can use wikipedia too :thumbsup:
