JDM cars not being allowed into Canada. Have to get shipped back to Japan after they arrive or get destroyed. Transport Canada dude being a prick, and changing the rules a bit to stop the influx of JDM cars coming in everyday.

It's 1 transport guy thinking he can change import laws 'cause 3 jdm's coming in were "too modded". They had rollcages etc. So he denied them.

Now Import Concern is in court with transport canada, and they'll win.

· Lamps, lenses, bulbs and reflex reflectors not meeting SAE / DOT standards
· Daytime running lamps missing
· High mount stop lamp missing
· Rear side marker reflex reflectors missing
· Headlamps designed for right hand drive not meeting Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety
Standards (CMVSS)
· Windshields not marked AS1, AS2, AS10, AS14
· Side glass not marked AS1, AS2, AS10, AS11
· Bumpers modified and no longer providing impact protection

I think, they'll be able to classify a modified car as a "kit car, built less than 15 years ago", which isn't importable. I think could use the kit car laws to disallow anything that had serious cosmetic modification done to it.

apperently if you have aftermarket suspension or clutch your car is modified

That list is only for inspection in Alberta, not for importation. You can import anything 15 years old or older, you are not obligated to register or comply the car.

thats the thing, they dont know, its like 6/49, they'll just pick from outta the sky. Better dont buy a car with any kind of alumenum wing, better chance to get picked as thats a MAJOR mod to the car:eek:
