Well, we had a 300 TT come into the shop today and they were saying that it had exhaust upgrades and a JWT chip or ecu, can't remember!! haha, anyway, after chilling at my bosses house, I had an encounter with the car. Simply put, I got a bit of a better launch, we had a short race (didn't even finish 3rd gear) and in the end I was ahead by about a car or so and I was slowly pulling away...or at least I think I was!! haah, it's hard to tell while watching the road!! In the end, I was in front the entire way!! haha, so I really don't know how much those jim wolf technology chips help but that 300 was pretty quick and was driven by a buddy from work!!!

aren't those 300z TT's with the jim wolf ECu, intake and exhaust near 400hp? granted, they are heavy machines! nice kill

Saying they have 320 stock, i doubt Intake,Exhaust, and an ECU upgrade will give it 80 horses... Maybe 40?

Is there ANYONE you havn't raced yet?

Well I am going to have to disagree, I have heard of golf chips that give 40 hp on the 1.8T and thats a lot smaller motor. An exhaust on a twin turbo set up will give you MAJOR hp . Intake not so much unless the facotry really messed it up.

I can see 60 hp easy.. so 80 isnt unreasonable

You can go from 170 to 225 with a chip and injectors on the AUDI/VW 1.8T

If you add a downpipe (I think that is what it is called), you go over 250hp. Add intake and exhaust, I am sure you will get more.

Aparently the 300TT is more expensive to get major horsepower out of then let's say a Supra. That is why peeps don't do it. From what I have heard, you can get over 500 if you want to spend the cash$$$$

I could however be totally wrong... haha

If the ECU upgrade ups the boost, then you can make 80hp easily with just a chip. The beauty of turbo cars.

I'm still waiting for the AMG vs G-Max Lude Race! Secret Street opens Friday!

This is a TT car. the intake and exhaust alone "could" give it 40 hp. On a turbo car, one of the best money/hp mods to do is an engine chip. After exhaust its probably 2nd. But personally, i think 80 isnt unreasonable.

About the Audi VW 1.8T, in order to get ~250+hp, you need the full stage 3 upgrade. That includes bigger Turbo, Exhaust, Intake, and new Manifolds.

The Chip makes it go from approx 170-about 190 depending on the model (2001 came with 180) To get 225, you would need exhaust, chip, intake, and a few other goodies.

Of course all of my info is A4 based, so might be off for the VW numbers.

Ahhh...ok.
If boost was upped, then 80 horses could be easy...But Meh, guess your right. nvm then.
Nice kill ludelvr...

In that case, Leo should quit while he's ahead. AMG is just too much.

I think "BPU" WRX :D vs. GTP would be more of a fair matchup.

maybe do some research first.

On the turbo model, an ECU upgrade is the single most dramatic jump in power you can make without going to larger turbos (which also requires an ECU upgrade). By changing the air/fuel mapping, removing the top speed limiter, increasing the rev limit, allowing increased boost and modifying other parameters, 60 horsepower is added. Reliability is not compromised under normal aggressive driving. Add our exhaust and Hi-Flow Intake System (to make the Stage 3 kit) and get a reliable 403 horsepower! btw. this is from stillen's webpage.

So intake/exhaust/chip = 100hp increase, not 40.

and regarding the VW side of 1.8t tuning. 2000 1.8t's can get 45 from a chip alone, making 195hp. 2001 1.8t's can get 65hp, making 215, and 2002 1.8t's can make 45hp, totalling to 215hp.

a full downpipe/exhaust is usually a 10-15whp increase on top of the chip.

I have an article with a 1.8T jumping to around the 200 whp mark with a simple chip. It had 4 different settings such as valet which was around 79 hp to the wheels as well as a full race mode which used a higher boost setting and it was around the 200 whp mark. This article was in the HCI mag and it was only the chip that they tested from what I rememeber.

Typically the Valet mode makes no boost. I have heard stories about valet's asking S4 owners what was wrong with their car, because it is not as fast as some others...:D
What do you mean? You normally drive fast in them?

i dont know about the 25 boost, but its a good possibility about the 120km/h in 2nd. my golf does 100km/h in 2nd, and my buddies stealth TT does 110km/h in 2nd (of 6)
