just for pursuing him? ooooor was there more to the story before he started to pursue him?

Judges here are appointed by politicians, and not influenced by elections. Its good partly because they do not base their decisions on popular vote. The only problem is that judges tend to favor the government in power as they can lose their positions if they anger the politicians.
