hey guys,

my friend is having a hard choice in choosing between a 2001 BMW 325i (74,000km) and a 2003 G35 Sedan (110,000km). both are the same price pretty much. Both are fully loaded as well.

Which would you choose and why?

G35 as its newer, prolli cheaper parts when needing repairs, and less maintenance, but then the 325 looks better cosmetically as the G35 in sedan looks nasty IMO....so for me..If I am going by looks, 325..but for long-term G35

I'll be the traitor here and say BMW of the two choices you've listed. Having 110000 km's on that G35 is pretty high! That's double the tally on my 03 G35C and it's my daily driver. Unless he's paying low 20's for that G35 I wouldn't go for it. I can't speak of the maintenance on the BMW but with the 4 years up on that G35 with no warranty who knows what's going to happen *cough* brakes *cough*. I don't particularly like the looks of either, but in this case I would go for the lower mileage car an 01 with 74,000km is pretty nice.

I was in that boat and have decided I will be going the G35 route.

Pros
-maintenance will be cheaper
-car is more reliable
-car is more powerful
-it drives sooooo smooth and nice

Cons
-not as sharp looking as the beamer but still looks nice

All in all I will be going for either a G35 coupe, sedan, x or a lexus Is300.

0-60 1/4 mile

2003 Infiniti G35 Sedan 6.2 14.8

I couldn't find the specs for the 325 but here are the specs for the 330i

2001 BMW 330i 6.1 14.8

So the G35 will be faster for sure.....but speed isn't EVERYTHING. lol

Maintence isn't as bad as you guys think it is, especially on common 3 series from what I've seen.

Looks way better then the sedan (couple looks better tho)

Better on gas if that matters too you

Lots of room but not as much of a boat like feel with the G35x, unless you like big cars

g35 sedans are pretty nice but i would only get it in 6spd and in 05 or 06...they have more power and variable valve timing as of 05

i would still choose it over the bimmer if it was an 03 and 6spd but never in auto...just something i dont like about the bmw e46. :dunno:
