So I'm posting from my school right now. I would be working, but there's no work at school today. I had a test next period, but it was canceled. Why are the Americans slacking off, you say? Well, one of the freshmen at my high school was on a charity bike ride last week when she was hit and killed by a truck. She was 14 years old.

Understand that my high school has a little over 450 people over four grades, so everyone knows everyone, pretty much. A very personal day for everyone.

Drive safely.

RIP. It's strange to think that someone you know or even you can be killed instantly without any warning.

Does it matter?

The funeral was today. Her brother (a year older than I) is definitely the goofiest kid I've ever met, and damn hilarious. He's on our student government partly because in his election speech he promised "an annual...no, BI-annual girls mud wrestling tournament!" Seeing him today after the reception made me cry... guy was sitting there with his head low, crying, just sitting there with his friends around him.
