Documentation Fee questions

Hey, I am looking to purchase a car from Global Auto Sales, they are a dealer in New Westminister BC, now they say that they have to charge me a $495 documentation fee, this includes checking for leans, air care, and what not. This fee seems high to me, and another dealer told me their fee is $185 but it vaires, just wondering if other guys have paid this fee when buying a used car from a dealer. Thanks

dealers are free to set there own fees and describe them how ever they like, both your dealers here are doing you the same service but for very different prices. This is a very stupid fee by the way and I wouldn't pay it if your going to be buying a car off them. but in the end they will find some other fee to rape u with to regain their margin on the sale incase you do not agree to their "documentation fee".
