Hey guys, Im looking for work after school that pays exceptionally well so that I can finance my car, and post secondary next year. I really dont have any experience (6 mths pumping gas at Coop, and 5 mths doing oil changes), but looking for something in or close to the NW because Im at St. Francis. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Either throw me a pm, or add on here, thanks!

you are looking for an exceptionally well paying job, with no education, work experience, or willingness to travel for said job.

Ok, Im terrible at explaining, I appologize. Im looking for something near the northwest, if not, I can travel. Well paying job being above 9-10, which is not that unreasonable. And Ill add preferably around cars, if not that doesnt matter. Is that better?

^apply for auto detailing at all the rental car places...you just wash their cars and do clean-up on them..and you do a bit of driving assuming you've had your license for at least 2 years..and you drive customers from their locations, etc.

except dont detailing shops usually close arond 8? if hes still in high school getting off at 4ish (if i remember right) that only leaves for like 4-5 hrs of work.
hardly enough to finance his car. barely enough for some wknd spending dough.
well i guess they are open on wknds to. but detailing shops dont pay that much. espicially someone with not alot of experience (as goes with every other job out there)

good luck....if you were smart you would go to work in retail somewhere. Easy cash and flexible hours.

try Futureshop or try something in Market.

Most places would start you around 11-13

Companies are DESPERATE for workers right now. If you show the right incentive to work hard, you should be able to be paid more then 8-10.

Why don't you work at a starbucks or superstore? They pay around $10/hr I think.

If you're over 18, get a serving job, it pays really good money, double the ammount you are wanting to have.

If Starbucks wasnt so busy all the damn time Id go there, but since htey are the most popular coffee chain, its a no go. Was thinkin about Sobeys. To whoever suggest Coop, I quit there and am not allowed to work there ever again lol

Sobeys in Royal Oak is hiring.
Super Store in the NW (Sarcee) is hiring. ( $9.40 to start)
I'm in highschool too, thus only working 3 days a week myself. If you're looking for a slack(ish) type job, ~$10 Super Store is for you. :)
Good luck (and if you find something good let us know:)

starbucks DOES NOT start at 10 starting in October they are just raising it to $9 starting
those cheap bastards at starbucks and they are also increasing all drinks by a nickel ... imagine all the additional revenue they can get from that nickel increase and it is stupid that their wage is so low:guns:

Starbucks offers Stock Options though, which I found QUITE interesting, but like I previously said, they are always WAY too busy for my likings!

When the cost of groceries, gas, insurance, housing, and what have you is so high, pay needs to be elevated so that we can survive!

^ yeah i realize that...im just saying you guys are spoiled here in calgary...starbucks in vancouver sure as hell does not pay 10 bucks an hour, shit is just as expensive if not more in vancouver (esp. with an added 6.5% tax)

If you're still looking for something part time, try London Drugs in Brentwood.. I'm not sure about starting wage, but it's descent, and raises are pretty common.

you work there meed?

if you apply at rona and ask you if you'd like to become a CAP decline it, it's crap, i worked at NE RONA all i did all day was push carts and a lot of sanitary work (cleaning washrooms, changing garbage cans, sweeping entrance), but i don't know if that's the same at other RONA stores around calgary

if you wanna have fun driving your car and making money....delivering pizzas for me paid me about 18 an hour in my pocket most of the time roughly 1750 to 2200 a month starting at 5 ish and only working 2 nights a week past 9:30

VERY good money
i could have you a job if you want....takes 30 to 40 minutes to commute to from crowfoot to it in the deep south

quikkoop
09-25-2006, 05:25 PM
Man, I want to do that SO bad, but once again I have no transportation to do it! And to get a car I need a job, but to get to that job I would need a car. I looked into pizza delivery with panago, but they were in the deep south, which is probably waht you're talking about. If I had a car, I would do that! thanks for the suggestion though!
