Mileage

Just wondering, about how much mileage/power do I lose with an air filter that needs to be replaced in my engine?

I have a 1998 Land Rover Discovery (4.0L V8, 182 HP, 233 Lb-Ft., rated 13/17 MPG) if that helps.

I've heard 20% but the thing would have to be covered in crap and barely flowing.

10% if you cant see light through it, after that it only decreases slowly, but 10% is a huge amount, but seriously why are you asking just replace the damn thing its like 7 dollars save that much on your first tank of gas

ok well i was jw, I replaced the filter today

11-12 MPG is better than 8-10...my car is a pig :(
