View Full Version : Truck drove thru bus stop shelter on 4th and 17th ave SW

I was on my way to downtown on 4th St and saw the intersection by 17th SW blocked off. There was a truck sitting on 17th with the front smashed, glass everywhere. The BACKSIDE?! of the bus stop shelter on 4th St. on the north bound sidewalk was destrooyed and the fire hydrant at the NE corner of the intersection knocked out and on the ground.

I can only guess that the truck was heading southbound, somehow ended up on the northbound sidewalk, drove through the bus shelter and knocked out the fire hyrant and finally stopped on 17th. Somehow he/she managed to miss the concrete bench and the traffic light pole.

Anyone knows what happen there? Hope no one was hurt.

I still couldn't figure out how this could happen. I guess that since a car can fly into an ATB bank, this could happen too.

Hope the pedestrian is ok.

Cfcn said that the driver fled the scene and might have hopped on a bike. Truck wasn't stolen and they have the idiot's info.

i saw this... delayed me for 20 minutes getting to school...
the truck looked pretty badly damaged.... i thought someone had flown out the windshield untill i saw that there was only half a bus shelter.... i didnt know a pedestrian was hit?? hope they are okay....

...another drinking and driving case. People have figured out if your drinking and driving and get into an accident, if you run and get away they can't prove you were drunk. :thumbsdow i wish there was away around that, and catch more of them
