Acer AL2216Wbd 22" LCD

Looking at picking up a widescreen LCD. Was initially looking at the LG L203WTX for $339.95, but this Acer looks pretty decent as well - 22" widescreen LCD and a price of $389.95.

How is Acer's reputation for LCD's?

Any suggestions for widescreen LCD's <$400?

Acer's lcd are actually very good, give a beautiful picture, my roommate has the 1916W, and i like it.

It's acer laptop imo that aren't very good.

There are tons of widescreens for <$400. Try the Samsung LCDs. Absolutely the best right now.

Dad just picked up a new Acer LCD. No complaints so far.

Anything system wise, laptops/desktops you have to stay away from. but so far so good for the LCD's

I got an LG 20.1" widescreen lcd from memoryexpress and it is the bomb.
I play alot of half life 2 multiplayer, WOW, etc. and this lcd kicks ass.
Under $400 with 2 year warranty and tax.

The LG looks great! Just wondering if it is worthwhile to get the Acer 22" instead. How does the picture quality of the 22" Acer compare to that of the 20.1" LG?

I have the 22" Acer. I don't regret buying it at all. 20" is too small IMO.

I have the Acer AL2416 - nothing but good things to say about it so far!! It's a beautiful screen.

i bought the viewsonic 20 widescreen and im very happy with it
might get the lg as a secondary monitor

samsung has a nice 20 widescreen out i think that should beat the acer hands down.

No negatives at all. Just remember with LCDs you have to beware of dead pixels. I bought the extended coverage from memory express because they cover you if even one pixel goes dead. Acer's standard warranty wont replace it until you have 7 dead pixels.

I review laptops for www.notebookreview.com and have owned/reviewed a few Acers and they are awesome in my experience.

Acer is a pretty good brand (BenQ) and I spend my money on their stuff all the time with zero complaints.

the glass/panel is pretty much the same because they are probably the same one bought from AUO.

Impreza, if you can FIND an Acer 2216W i'd recommend buying it - they are in shortage right now :whipped:

well since its brand new id wait but my 20.1 viewsonic went from 600 to 389 in about 4 months and the styling and picture is just amazing.plus i like viewsonic so thats why .

but the acer is a good buy.

I bought the acer ealy this week, I used to have a nice samsung 19" CRT. The only trouble is I am having troubles setting the monitor up settings wise to maximise color, brightness but not too bright, good black, etc. Nvidia had an optamization tool. Is that the best one to use?
