Im trying to find someone to install a 2way system I've called 3 places already and they won't do it. One place quoted $1400.00 to install it.

Where did you guys get yours installed? And how much did it cost?

futureshop in Northland, ask for Sean to do it. they are all good there but sean is A+ if he will do it.

Had the 7 done there and Chrisw from projectTechnik had some of his electrical work done there too.

Goto 1999-2004 3 series install.

Its the same diagrams some of the install shops use and remote start = HELLA easy to install, its only the ignition harness.

Shouldn't be such an issue?

I had compustar installed on my e46 sedan. I had alot of problems with it. When you close the door on the e46, the lights dim out, which caused problems for automatic start. The alarm worked fine though, I had mine installed by Derdell Design when it was still open. Alot of places dont like to install alarms on e46's.

my alarm is fine, installed by visions. but they wouldn't do a starter for it.

A lot of Hondas are the same way. The lights dimming isn't a big deal - the car just doesn't go into reservation mode until the lights go out completely.

The problem with BMW is that a lot of their voltages switch differently from Japanese and North American cars so more relays need to be used.

well.. my alarm was fine. But the automatic start wouldnt work all the time. It was working when it was warm out, and not working when it was cold.. go figure :banghead:

i had one on my 95 320. i liked it at first. but then i hated it. i wouldnt sacrafice one of my keys to have an auto start work on my e46. it takes away factory security features.
would never doit again. leave it to the hondas
OEM bmw alarms FTW
