What do you guys think about the new Madza 5?

It's a micro-van. It looks okay if you are in need of something small, economical, yet roomy for hauling people or stuff.

What the engine and stuff? (i.e. I don't know much about these engines, or the car in general of course)

Like it's a "new" style this year right, so how's the performance in terms of durability, engine life (or which other vehicle shares the same engine), drivetrain (tranny, gears, suspension, etc...)

Thanks

Same as the Mazda 3.

Also Used in the Axela/Mazda3, Atenza/Mazda6, Tribute, MPV
A turbocharged version with direct injection is used in the Mazdaspeed 6/Mazda Atenza MPS.

The DISI turbocharged version was on the Ward's 10 Best Engines list for 2006.

(from wikipedia)

Also used in the Focus, Escape, and Ranger.

A few friends of mine have gotten the 5 and they rave about it. Lots of zoom-zoom in a very practical package. It's really in a class by itself. HeavyD is right about the internals...same as the Mazda3.

Even the interior looks similar to the Mazda 3. The front cockpit at least.
Its been out for about a year now.

It's a cool car but the gas mileage isn't much different than the full size vans.
