I've had work done there as well to a Pathfinder I had when I first moved here - good folks they were to me. That's pretty entertaining though!!

I doubt they'd charge the employee for damages, as I assume dealerships are insured against such accidents.

Funny pic, though!

I just wonder if the owner will be notified of such mistake, or if they will cover it up by saying:

"parts are on order, you need to wait..."

yeah, so we can paint your new bumper..

why are you guys saying they owe him a new car? Does something get fucked up really badly when a car hits like that? Like does the frame bend or something? I'd like a new car too, but by the looks of it, I dont think a new car is justified.

That's awesome, can't really tell, but looks like a Maxima. I'd really like to know what happens, but have this feeling that they will try to cover it up with another excuse other then it falling of their hoist. Then you can give the owners this pic and they could go to court and could get a new car

When i worked at bmw gallery to guys that worked there were delivering an m3 and they went flying down 16th going east then onto sarcee and they lost it on that corner, hit a pole, then rolled it 3 times down and hill and through a fence. They were fired haha. But the sales men then used the car to show how good they were in a cash. It was a convertable too.

I agree. I dont see why all of you somehow think that he all of a sudden deserves a brand new car.:dunno:

That nissan isn't that bad, I bet there is hardly any damage. He probably didn't even get fired (there is a huge shortage of mechanics right now) It happens at shops more than you think. I've been a mechanic for 8 years and have had acouple close calls. Alot of the time it happens when guys who work flat rate are rushing to get the job done. Many mechanics have died in simular situations. Cars can be replaced.....

I had a close call when i was in highschool and doing an alignment on the drive up style hoist.

I started the car, put it to neutral, slowly let go of the clutch and the car jolted ahead but luckily i pressed the clutch back down and prevented it from going over with me in it.

The instructor saw this, called me a "fucking idiot".

Got in the car, and did the same exact thing. Then he apolagised to me.

there was a mechanic working on a 2006 pathfinder he finished workingon it and then he went into reverse and nailed the maxima which was being worked on the lift right behind it . i dont know if the brakes were working or not.
luckily the mechanic that was working on the maxima just left.
the damage on the maxima doesnt look that bad at all. the pathfinder had a dent on the hatch / roof.
the mechanic has not been fired.

Id be suprised if he were fired. Honestly, there is such a shortage of workers. It might not be his fault..equipment malfunction?

I just heard the same story from somebody in the hyatt group... We had a hoist fail at my old shop. It was a 4 post drive on.. and one of the post cables snaped.
