Anyone else excited for the debut on Oct 9th?

I'm pretty pumped, Ive decided if I like it it will be my bike for the up coming season.

Any opinions on what its gonna be like? I have a feeling its going to have the different modes like the new gsxr, sport, normal, and wet. Also heard theres gonna be a whole new engine in it. I'm pretty excited and am counting down the days, just wanted to hear some other opinions.

wow, havent seen these pictures yet, i like it, but I'm going to wait untill the offical debut untill I actaully make my decision.

What do you guys think about the different modes, like the gsxr?
I think thats a pretty sweet idea, but who knows.

If you are getting a yamaha make sure you fork over the few hundred difference and get a 50th anniversary edition. While both are excellent bikes, the new r1s and r6s in my opinon are developed with a more track like feel due to the new throttle and overall chassis of the bike. While the new Gsxr I find are more "user" friendly... a good city bike.
I've test drove both and i like the Gsxr better because of the new seat.. lower and more narrow, good if you're a small guy .

my 2006 R6 sucks..
as does my buddy's..

he burnt out his clutch in under 2000km, cause it was adjusted wrong from the factory...
mine doesn't downshift properly..

doesn't help that blackfoot motorcycles sucks...
(scratched my tank, and forgot to replace a screw during my oil change..)

I would say yes

my 03 r6, along with thousands of others (according to forums I've read) sometimes doesn't idle very well when at a complete stop, then the engine will just cut out, after turning it off, then on again it will run perfect, sometimes it'll happen again later that day, or not again for weeks.

and alot of 06 R6's engines just Shut off Mid drive
read some forums and the engine just shuts off on you while riding around.

yeah..his bike broke down on the middle of deerfoot at 3 in the morning.. clutch burnt right out, and unable to move..
had nothing to do with 'driver skill' - just a bad factory set up...
it's now at walt healy getting replaced under warranty..

after all the probs the early 2000 tranny as well, and the fact that they lied about the redline on the 2006 R6, I'd watch yamaha closely..

I'm buying the extended warranty for mine..

maybe not driver skill, but driver experience. Something he could have noticed a long time ago?

To me its like adjusting your seat in your car. a preference.

I havent heard any complaints

go to r6messagenet . com

cold siezing problems on the 06-gsx I would be really pissed about.
