I wanted to get some feedback on swapping a B-series into my EK. I was wondering:

1.) How much did the engine/exhaust noise level increase after the swap.
2.) How much more additional vibration did the new powerplant introduce when installed.
3.) What was your gas mileage after the swap?

My stock D-series engine is great. $30 of gas gets me 600km. It's nice and quiet and smooth. I'm wondering how much I'm going to sacrifice if I want a little more "go"...

Thanks in advance

I get about $40 for 400km... premium gas =\
Still quiet, you sat in my car, and little to no vibration from the engine.

i have data from over 5200 km of city driving with a stock ls motor and ecu.

i averaged 477.4 km per tank and 36.5 litres of gas.

average MPG (L/100 km) was 31.2 (7.7) the lowest was 29.5 (8.0) and the highest was 33.5 (7.1).

noise will depend on your exhaust setup, i don't think vibration is a big issue if you're using stock mounts.

As my EK....
1. About $35 for 400km... premium gas too :D
2. My setup is buddy club racing spec..very loud...
3. As I am using some solid engine mount....the vibration is pretty bad too
Hope this help:thumbsup:

GREAT info! That's exactly what I was looking for, but was doubtful that anyone would have solid numbers. I can't believe you had time to record the mileage.

Thanks for all the replies guys.

My gas mileage at best is 440-450kms per tank premium......the least is about 400kms per tank on premium......this was before boost.....but still with boost its the same.....stock mounts are fine not alot of vibration at all.....and like gpomp said exhaust levels depends on exhaust set up....

ohhh this is with a b20...
