Pho Binh Minh - 17th ave SE. Its in the same strip mall joint with the new grocery shop, something to do with Tiger? haha. (if travelling eastbound, you will see Pho Binh Minh on your left hand side w/ Pizza Hut in the parking lot somewhere) (Don't know the address really)

Pho Dau Bo - also on 17th Ave SE. this is in the "Little Saigon" strip mall. its right before the 52nd St SE lights.

Pho Xuan - on 36th St NE, across the street from Pacific mall (Canadian Tire, T n T supermarket, moviedome)

btw all 3 places.. :barf: :barf:

Mimosa in Shawnessey is the best for taste.
Pho Hoai in Southland Crossing gives me the most sauce.
Shawnessey Vietnamese has the largest portions.

I always go to Mimosa when I'm at home and Pho Hoai when I'm at work.

The only place I go to is Pho Rang Dong. Right in the heart of Forest Lawn!! There's actually another place just off Bow Trail and 37th St SW. It's a tiny corner shop, and the food ain't half bad either. But that place is far, so I only get to go when I work out on the west end of the city.

All the other places cater to white folks, so the food is shit.

Does anybody know if Safeway/Sobeys/etc carries the standard vietnamese hot sauce and brown sauce?
Also if anybody knows what those sauces are ACTUALLY called it would be a big plus. I heard Hoison (sp?) once but never had it confirmed.

+2 for Pho Hoai! One of the first places i used to visit with a friend when he got me hooked!

I would load up my satay beef noodles up with a ton of sriracha and devour it. I keep a frequent stock of it in my house at all times now. Usually get mine from downtown, but I'll buy it at superstore once I run low again.

That is what I put on my Salad rolls, in my soup. Just don't get it in your eye! I dropped some in my soup it splashed into my eye and it was I am guessing what it's like to be maced!

Now I loved the Hoison they used to use at Pho Haoi but they changed it...now I am not so fond of it.. OH well, I love chili paste sauce.

They're so so. Ever try Lemon Grass across Richmond Road? I don't think it's that bad. Considering that they're in the west side, there's not a whole lot to choose from. There's also another one by the Cash Convertors on Bow Trail - can't remember the name of it though. There's also Bow Bul Go Gi on 17th Ave if you're desperate.

The food is okay but the service is terrible. Went there for lunch with a few co-workers once. 5 minute wait for a table (it wasn't busy- only 4 tables seated at the time we got there) 20 minutes to take our order after telling them twice we were ready to order. 45 minutes for the food to come out. One of our orders came out wrong - fixed right away though. Another 1/2 hour to get bill after we had asked 3 times. All the delays were because the waiter was too busy chatting it up with some blue hairs who must have been regulars.
