I always go to this place called the Royal Swan on 17th ave. Awsome food, but they recently changed owners so i'm not too sure if the food is still good.

In Lethbridge there is only one, so I dont really have much choice.
I have had family friends go out and try a new place (forgot the name) but half way through dinner, some guy came in the restaurant, and dropped off a bag of Coke three tables away, and left. None the less, my parents wouldnt be too impressed with me if that happened

bagolac sucks ass. man its like white viet food. actaully there is no good pho joint if you think about it. the one beside royal swan is good for noodles. the one beside tigers is good for noodles. pho binh minh is not bad. dont eat the noodles at bagolac.. tastes like god damn fish sauce. the drinks arent blended properly. if you want good service go to oriental pheonix beisde tony roma's on barlow trail.

when i lived in calgary... i was in the NE just of 16 ave... the absolute best vietnamese food in calgary (IMO) is this place in the mall with T & T. The pork chop with egg is sooo good. My roomate was vietnamese and he used to say it tasted like his mom's home cooking. Their pho is good too. Check it out and you won't be dissapointed.

MAN all those places are white viet food, more like a viet donald.

If you really what to try out a real viet restp MEKONG on 17th ave se, ownd by 2 brother fresh from bukgoung. Every true viet knows that place, fockin hugh portions, all real authentic cooking, nothing watered down, nothing but the best.

Does anyone else 'contaminate' their soup with whatever they can find on the table to avoid this happening?

BangAlot is ok, Pho Kim is decent, so is Pho So 1, but the ultimate pho shop is Pho 88 in Forest Harlem next to the Fast Gas, if it's still there...

and the cleanest viet place is the Oriental Phoenix off Barlow, it's kinda like a Joey's meets Vietnam :D... But food is only decent.

Every restaurant carries a distinct taste and this is usually dependent on the cliental being served.

Most pho places cater to vietnamese/chinese customers so the taste is going to be different compared to Bagolac who's customers are mainly white. With that said, Bagolac is definitely one of the finese Vietnamese restaurants in town and gets my vote.
