Hey guys, just looking for a little help as my mechanical knowledge is limited..
I drive a 1996 GMC Sonoma. 2.2L auto
Lately my truck has been acting weird. When I am stopped at a light, every once in a while I get a 'rumble' from the engine bay, it shakes the cab a bit, and kind of runs rough.
Yesterday I was on John Laurie going up a hill.. As most people know, the 2.2L is slow, so I had to give it some gas.
The truck made a loud bang (maybe a backfire?) and then sputtered. It seems to run alright as long as I accelerate slowly. When I get on the gas hard it sputters and doesn't want to go.
In August, before I moved here, I replaced the sprakplugs, fuel filter and air filter.
My guess is maybe the timing chain has stretched or something.
any insight would be appreciated. I don't want to drive it untill I figure this out.
Thanks
