in all seriousness i think it's some kind of sociological phenomenon:
1) dumb high school kid/parents of dumb high school kid buys a cav
2) other car enthusiasts/dumb highschool kids laugh at the kid that doesn't fit in
3) dumb j-body owning high school kid feels rejected by peers, must find a sense of affiliation
4) kid in his search for meaning uses the internet and finds...j-body forum, which in all likelihood is full of automotive enthusiast rejects like himself
5) kid finds others like him, that modify their cars too in defiance of what the cool kids might think...too bad the sense of affiliation he feels is with a bunch of tasteless nerds and so he identifies with these retards and modifies his car like them
6) eventually he is part of the group that another (step 1) will seek out and the stereotype of the dumb, tasteless j-body owner perpetuates itself
