View Full Version : FS: 1986.5 Toyota Supra MKIII N/A White
1986.5 Toyota Supra
MKIII N/A
Manual Transmission
26X,XXX km's on chasis
9X,XXX on JDM 7M-GE
5,XXX km's approx. on engine since full rebuild
White exterior, Burgundy leather interior
Power mirrors, locks, windows
The Good:
Fully rebuilt 7M-GE completed by a Toyota Mechanic of 20 years. Used all Toyota OEM parts and retorqued head finished June/06; approx. 5,000 km's since.
New clutch installed in June/06.
New brake pads and rotors with rebuilt calipers done in June/06
New Energizer Max battery installed September/06.
New Goodyear All-season tires (80-90% tread).
Full fluid flush (Radiator, LSD, Oil, Transmission) completed in August/06.
Pioneer DEH-P4800MP MP3 Deck installed in June/06.
Pre-wired with 4ga. amp kit in June/06.
Paint and glass in excellent condition.
Very little rust.
2x New Ultra white Headlights.
New Distributor Cap/Rotor and Spark Plug wires.
New K&N Performance Air Filter.
All New Belts.
The Bad:
Driver side seat leather is showing its age.
Cruise control needs new cable.
Drivers side door mouldings warped. Requires minor body work (small amounts of rust underneath).
Minor body work now includes fender repair thanks to some moron who scraped me. Nothing too serious, just some filer and touch up. Price adjusted to reflect damage.
Overall, she's a fantastic car. It's quick and rear wheel drive which makes it plenty of fun to drive. It attracts attention and I would consider it an uncommon, if not rare car.
Feel free to email me:

$3,500 OBO.

i have never had the car dyno'd. if i were to venture a guess, it would be true to factory specifications, or slightly higher. that would put it around 200bhp. due to the work that was done, i could imagine it increased slightly.
Still looking to sell her. Is no one interested? I don't think i'm being unreasonable, she's a beautiful car. I'm available for test drives aswell, it's the only way to really appreciate it.

Bump. I've had some interest, but no buyers. This is an OBO sale, so don't hesitate to make me an offer (lets be reasonable though).
PM's/Emails replied. And no, $1,250 is not what I would call a reasonable offer. Thanks to everyone else though for your emails.
Who else wants to come see the car?
Bump.
Bump & Price Drop!

Merry Christmas (and/or Happy Holidays)
New Price: $5,000

Trade for a lifted YJ of the same vintage (actually newer)?
Lifted, 33's, leather, cd, etc etc etc.
If not, I'll keep this car in mind if my JP sells quick.
Im just going cravy trying to find a suitable projet car.

unfortunatly i'm not looking for trades right now; although i'm sure i lifted jeep would be plenty of fun. Good luck with the sale anyways, and let me know. The Supra would make an excellent candidate for a project car.
I just bought 2x ultra white headlights, a new distributor cap/rotors, all new spark plug wires, new K&N performance air filter, and all new belts.
Come take a look!
The new distributor parts and air filter made a world of difference. Feels like a new car again. Plus, with the new headlights, i can finally see at night.
It's still for sale, so feel free to call/text my cell or send me an email. I'm willing to travel to show the car, but lets try to keep it within Calgary. Thanks for all the interest so far.

According to my first post, it is a 5 speed and is not turbo charged.

If it's not turboed and it's a 1986, it may not be worth 4 grand. However, if it's mint in almost every way, and I was in the market to buy, I'd probably offer $2,500. Any body know the book value for this car?
Don't mean to slug your sale, but maybe that's why there are not a lot of offers. Or, it could just be a bad time to buy and sell. :-P
Good luck, cause it seems like a really nice clean copy of a supra, and they're aren't many left.
According to my research, the Blue Book value for this car is between $4,000-$5,000 USD. As for private sales, I've seen them range from $5,000 and up depending on model and year.
I don't think what I'm asking is in any way unfair. I've put a considerable amount of work into this car (as you can see by my original post) to get it running as well as it does today.

According to the Blue Book website, an 87 NA Supra in good condition with 150000 miles is worth $2490 US.
Well, that's assuming you can find one for sale. They aren't the most common cars these days. Besides that, as I've mentioned, I've invested alot into the car. Although the chassis has 26x,xxx kms on it, the drive train is much lower. Somewhere in around 5,000 kms now. You aren't going to find one of this year or generation anywhere near that low. Sure, the body isn't in perfect condition, but it's definately not bad. In all fairness, it's not fair to judge a car like this by it's book value anyways. If it were a Toyota Tercel, then maybe, but it's not. It's similar to expecting to pay book value for a Nissan 240sx these days. Again, I don't feel I'm being unreasonable. Someone out there is bound to get some enjoyment out of this car but perhaps that person isn't either of you 2 gentlemen who posted last. With the amount I've invested into this car, I'm not looking to make money or even break even. Infact, I'm already losing nearly half of what I've put in. I'm sure you can understand where I'm coming from and I would appreciate it if we kept the lowballing to a minimum. I'm not trying to rip anyone off.
Oh, and one other thing to keep in mind. This is an OBO sale. I am open to reasonable offers.
I made some adjustments to the original post:
Approx. kms on JDM 7M-GE, chassis, and engine since rebuild.
PRICE DROP: $4,000 OBO!
Bump. Sure has been nice out these days.

Bump for a fellow Supra owner, good luck man!
Price Drop: $3,750 obo!
The rust under the mouldings got a bit worse with winter. There are a couple specks on the roof as well, although I know it's just surface spotting and would buff out. Still nothing major at all, so come take a look.
