Anyone know a good place to get some lowering springs installed?

Are they hard to DIY? I wouldn't mind doing myself. What has everyone else done?

I just did it on Friday.. it's not too hard. Auto Value will lend you the tool ( I had to pay for it first and they refund the money later). It's not impossible, but it is a little time consuming.
I assume this is on your Civic?

So you did it yourself? Some one help you out? Basically, you rented the tools... What tools you need?

Yah, its for my Civic. About a 1.6inch drop. :)
Should look/handle way better than stock

you need 14mm 17mm 10mm sockets/ flat wrenches and a spring compressor and a hammer, jack and jack stands.

What he said.. heh. you will also need a 19mm to take the wheel nuts off. ;) I was rebuilding the brake calipers on my G/F's 92 Civic last night and I was thinking that it looks pretty easy to do the springs on them.

If you wanna get it done at a shop look into TireCraft. Those guys seem to know what they are doing. They'll also do an alignment for you.

Is alignment a big deal? I read about it somewhere.... I need to realign after springs are installed?

Thanks, Kevie. I was looking at that earlier.

Yeah, your supposed to get it aligned after. I picked up my car from the alignment shop this morning, actually! :) I was surprised how close all the settings were, the only thing that was out was the rear camber, but not too bad. I only dropped 1.3 inches tho.

How much and where did you get your alignment done?

I did. In fact, I bought the springs from him. Think he's ignoring me now that he's got my money.

It was 59.99 plus tax, at the Blaskin and Lane in Westbrook. It sucks that I don't know anyone who works at a tire place any more and I have to pay full price.. oh well.

ls/vtec-crx just told me that I won't need an alignment done cuz I'm only using spring drop of 1.6 inches.
This correct?

We can't tell you that for sure.. when is the last time your car was aligned? It's possible that it needs one now, before you lower it!

I think I need an alignment, its been a while.
Before I lower it? Hmm, would it make any diff whether I got it done before or after?

you should ALWAYS get an alignment ever time you take apart your suspension.

Yah, I was told TireCraft is good. By the sounds of things, everyone ranges from $60-80 for an alignment.
