Looking for some answers from 5thgen lude owners:

1. If I dont have projectors(which they dont make for our cars) will HID"s be pointless to put in because they will not have much of a better lighting effect?

2.What brands are the best? I know HID stop is selling sets for very good prices, are they any good compared to others?

no it wont be pointless.
I had a P&P kit and I thought the light output was better than stock halogens. I actually have the kit for sale right now if your interested.

Although a ghetto HID kit would be better than stock halogens, I'm 100% positive that if you spent that same $300 on halogen upgrades, you would have way nicer lighting than HIDs.

Osram Hyper bulbs + relayed 10 ga wiring (which you'll need in the future for proper HID use anyway + proper aiming procedure = better than HID kit.

1.) I found that the mod was more for show than anything else. Light output for me was worse than stock. But then again I had an 8000k kit.

2.) I found a kit that used OEM Hella ballasts from a 5-series BMW with rebased HID bulbs. That gave me absolutely no problems. I find OEM > aftermarket any day of the week.
