for like 400$ you can get a pretty good machine at laptop depot.

How about a Sony Vaio PCG-FX215. Its a 800mhz duron, 256mb ram, 10gb Harddrive...( I think been a bit ), 15inch screen, Firewire, two usb inputs. Linksys wireless notebook adapter, DVD rom. $175 firm or with an internal DVD Burner for $225
