i noticed with most flipup headlights there is a knob under the hood right beside the lights(on each end ).....i dont know what this knob is for:dunno:

i started to turn it and once it gets to a sertain point it turns the oposite way and opens the headlight and closes it:werd:

does anyone know what purpose this is for

Uhh, manual open/close maybe?? Let's say the motor is fried, you need light to drive with at night, use the manual knob to open it.

Damn, noob

No, it isnt actually manual, its just a knob u keep turning, once it gets to a cerain point, the motor turns the headlight up and down really fast.

its an adjustment. I had it on my supras and it was weird to. but its an adjustment so you can keep your headlight buckets flush with your hood and fender

Shut up people. Either give him a real answer or don't bother.

That's your vtech switch. Turn it left to activate vtech mode on. Once it reaches peak vtech levels, it turns the opposite way right? That activates the dual internal oil pumps to keep your engine lubricated with this new onset in power.

its a switch to open and close it so you can manualy open them like to say change a bulb or whatever but you usualy need to take out the fuse for the lights to do this to make it work properly

If your headlight relay is burnt out, you can use those to manually turn the motor, to put the headlights up or down to the desired height. If there's power to the motors, then it'll "kick back" the dial. Some people remove the headlight relay, and put the headlights half-way up to do a "sleepy eye" mod, or whatever you may want to call it.

It was a safety measure, in case your headlight relay or headlight motors burned out, so you could still drive at night with your headlights.

Yah, but don't you mean on a 180SX or a 240?? Silvias didn't have flip lights.
But :werd:, its a Nissan thing.

I have a 1g eclipse along with my talon also and what it is on mine is a headlight fine adjustment, so you can adjust the bulbs so they aren't pointing at the ground.. Usually I pull up to a garage door and flip up the lights and turn the knob so the lights are pointing forward instead of too high or too low..
