hey guys i have a buddy who just brought over a gtr, now can he still have his car pass the out of province inspection. I heard that many people with skylines are failing do to the dot approved glass rule??? Anybody know whats goin on??

It's ASE-specification for glass, and most Skyline's have the right glass. It's the headlights that aren't DOT that are the biggest issue (unless your car came without ASE glass, which would suck).

Do a search, there was at least one thread where this was discussed a lot. The solution to the headlights is to replace them with some that are DOT for the duration of the inspection. The Alberta Traffic Safety Act does not appear to require such equipment for street use.

retrofit the headlights from a s14 zenki. that's what one of the guys on gtr canada did
