So as it turns out, my dad has had a rifle in the house for the last 15 years. I had no idea about it. Anyways, he wants to get rid of it, but we have no idea how/what to do.
Anyone know?

You can call the police district that's nearest to you. I believe you can drop off hunting rifles but they must come pick up handguns. That's what I heard on a news report anyway.

The commercial is hilarious..
"DO NOT TAKE GUNS INTO THE POLICE STATION, CALL THEM FOR INSTRUCTIONS"
Chances are if you knew someone out in the country, farm/acerage, anything, they would take it for you.....

Sell it. That way it won't go to waste.

Give it away or sell it, don't just throw it away. I'd take it off your hands if you want.

we took my grandpa's old shotgun to the police station on 14th st. nw, but that was years ago. maybe call your local district office and ask them? :dunno:
I like how someone in BC turned in a ROCKET LAUNCHER.
LOL.
