I was just wondering if i got an unlocked phone that means that i can use any service provider right. And also if i have a sim card right now could i just use that same card in a different phone? I was also wondering if anyone knows how good the samsung d807 cell is.

Thanks

If a phone is unlocked you can put any sim card into it and use it. The sim card holds your line. You can also move that same sim card to any other phone.

The D807 is an okay phone. It's pretty bulky for a slider.

I'm using the D807 and I like it with a few exceptions.

i) Text messaging is a pain because of the key layout.
ii) The right 'soft key' launches the browser and cannot be changed. It's inevitable that you'll accidentally press it every so often so get used to random data charges on your bill.

As for unlocked phones, you can use them on any GSM network but keep in mind that only Rogers and Fido for the most part sell phones that are compatible with the 850 mhz network used in Canada. If you get a phone from overseas, it will more than likely be European triband which, although will work here, does not give you anywhere near the range or clarity of an 850 handset.

Safety tip: Check the compatible frequencies before purchasing.
