Anyone have any idea what the profit margins (aka whats the avg markup) on furniture are? Im trying to help my mom bargain for some better prices and it would help if had a rough idea how much room there was too play with.

If it helps, the offer made by the store was a fairly basic couch for 999 or same couch with dual recliners for 1299 (no leather or anything) then a chair, with recliner for 899 (same material).

Seems to me there might be an attempt to offset the "savings" in the couch with the price of the chair....but i also have no idea what furniture costs.

Anybody have any ideas what costs would be on these items? (obviously not looking for exact, but even ballpark would help me out)

Funiture has insane mark up of 100%. And at most stores, you can bargain at least 20% off the list without breaking a sweat.
