Hey guys,
I'm new to the Subaru scene and have a chance to buy a 2.5 Hybrid with 05 WRX head and 06 WRX shortblock w/ VF-39 turbo and FMIC.
Does anybody know much about this setup? I've searched on NASIOC for info but my limited knowledge prohibits me from making sense of most of the threads. So if somebody can give me a background on the reason why this hybrid would be done, that would be awesome.
Questions:
1) what are the advantages of this hybrid
2) what kind of turbo is a VF-39
3) power potential
4) I heard this hybrid gets poorer gas mileage, why?
5) Any reliability issues?
6) what engine management should be used to tune
7) what power levels will max out the stock 05 WRX injectors
Any other insight is appreciated.
