I am kinda leaning toward a COBB TBE for my 04 WRX does anybody know if these are good exhaust systems and also where would be the best place in Calgary to get it?

Amazing system. I got one for my WRX and it fits like stock and sounds great. I got mine at Rally Subaru in Edm. But Tunerworks carries it in town here and Bobby will hook you up with a great deal!

here are a few pics of mine

Cobb controls their products pretty well. TBE would be $1400-1500ish

Give Tunerworks a call. They might have the parts in stock. Otherwise Rally Subaru in Edmonton is a good bet and they can ship over night via Puralator.

Are you supposed to do Accessport first? then TBE after?

That is the preffered order since the accessport can kill the EGT CEL's if you go catless, or you need the O2 sensor fix.

You might want to hold of for a little while though, there is a new version of the accessport coming soon!!

and it looks sexy...thats what im holding out for is the V2, supposedly has some added functionality over the current one and COBB has actually discontinued the original.

Yes, they are officially releasing the AP 2.0 at SEMA Oct 31 - Nov 3. Given that they have discontinued AP 1.0 as of Oct 10, I presume this means that the new Accessports should be available to order within a few weeks of SEMA.

edit: updated link to point correctly to new Cobb site

as much as i would like to get the v2 ap for all the new gimicks that will come with it, i use my current v1 about twice a year, and the rest of the time it sits in my closet. but for all you suby owners (even the RS owners) go out and buy this!

Correct me if I'm wrong but Cobb stage 2 consists of a TBE a accessport flashing right, also what is the wheel horsepower after stage 2?

Aleks

You're right.

Don't know what the WHP is but I can tell you with a fair ammount of certainty that is about 20-30hp short of Sti. So about 270hp crank would be my guess.

A reflash is just an off the shelf map. It is really safe and there is still power to be had with a protune.

So I should get the accessport first then get the TBE, How much is the AP new? Is stage 1 just a reflash?

Yah you basically just upload a new base map. Takes about 40 mins or so, super easy to do. CAn't remember exact pricing, around $800 I think.....total package Accesport+TBE was under $2500 :D

The best money you will ever spend.

The reflash takes about 15-20 mins. A new AP with be in the $700-750 range depending on where you order it from. Used they can be had for $500-600, prob less once the new version comes out.

At the meet at subracing most stage 2 WRXs were putting down 200-205 awhp. The 06s put down a lot more torque than previous years with the 2.5L.

I would recomment getting the AP first.

200-205awhp works about pretty much right on the 270 hp crank I was guessing.

So I've been lurking around NASIOC and IWSTI - from one of the vendors who is updating the IWSTI forum from SEMA, I found out that the new AP will support launch control as a real time map. They aren't saying anything official about anti-lag, but the post I found suggests that a protuner can implement this as well. I wonder if this means that you can have a "1/4 mile" real time map with launch control and anti-lag (ie. a secondary rev limiter for flat foot shifting)?

I think I know what my wife and the kids are buying me for Christmas!

We have a bunch of the new COBB APs on order so as soon as they are released we'll have them at the shop

Speaking of exhausts, we just got a huge order from APS in Australia - these systems are amazing!

Does this stuff void warranties? I'm thinking so.

I don't think so as Rally Subaru in Edmonton sells them, call a dealership and find out

You can't completely void a warranty for every item in your car by modifying one component. They can deny a warranty claim, which is different than outright voiding the entire warranty. If you get a turboback and AP, then your turbo dies, it wont be covered since the exhaust and AP directly effects the turbos longevity.

If your stereo dies, or if you get the clunking rear STI suspension, you should still get warranty coverage since the mod did not directly cause the part to fail. Then again, if something else does fail when you have a part that is visibly modified, they can claim abuse, and deny your warranty claim anyway.

So what if you motor died and one had an aftermarket exhaust they could say the motor was not designed to take the extra 20-30hp.

When I bought my new wrx a month ago they told me everything regarding the motor mods voids the warranty---which I thought was a crack of shite!!:banghead:

Well I would then take out the AP and put the stock exhaust back on :D Honestly I don't think you need to concern yourself at all with it. I'm more worried about mis-shifting during my aggressive trying to show off runs i.e redlining 3rd and dumping it back into 2nd. Ouch!:nut:
