that's the motherboard.
CPU will do 2.4 GHz no problem on this board. I haven't pushed it higher than that. stock speed for 3000+ is 1.8 GHz.

Do you require an SLI graphics card, or can you use AGP cards on this motherboard ? I am trying to become more familiar with SLI.. I basically need components for a good home server... and the price here is in my neighborhood.

I think I answered my own question.. PCIE boards don't have AGP slots.. just PCIE.. so in that case, can you use regulare PCI cards in PCIE slots ?
thanks

Nooo. Only PCI-e. Completely different things.

So basically any older PCI cards are then obsolete ? old NIC cards, FIREWIRE< etc. >?

Have you even looked at the specs on this motherboard?
SLI: 2 x PCI-Express x16 slots (x8 effective bandwidth in each slot)
Single card: 1 x PCI-Express x16 slot
I/O: 1 x PCI-Express x1 slot
3 x 32-bit PCI, support for PCI 2.1
It's got the 2 x16 PCI-e slots, 1 PCI-e x1 slot and 3 'old' PCI slots.

Okay fair enough, forgive my ignorance, but what makes the I/O: 1 x PCI-Express x1 slot different than the SLI ones ?

If you have seen a SLI board. There are in total 3 16x lanes for you to connect cards into. One of them is dedicated for a single card operation, and the other two are for SLI operation.
