Still doesn't do it for me... :dunno:

For the expected 100K it's gonna be up here, I'd look at a couple others... like a 911TT or an older F355.

If Nissan had never made the 350Z and G35, this car would probably look much more original. For $100,000 it looks a bit too much like it's lower priced siblings, but granted it is wearing disguise covers and looks WAY faster than them on the track.

Can't wait to see it on the roads

Kind of like how the old GTR would look much more original of they never released a GTS or GTsT-M? :dunno:

^ true but there wasn't as great of a disparity between the prices of the base model skyline and the GTR in any of the previous versions. for 100k you could buy 2 350Z track

I think we were spoiled by Nissan styling. When Z and G hit the road, there's a huge wow factor because no-one else got the balls to release something so different.

Plus, they have to keep some GT-R lineage in the styling, so I don't think the designers can go all out like the LF-A.

Yeah, that's why I thought selling it as Infiniti would be better.

It fits the image better. In that market, buyers are not going to complain about why GT3 cost like 2 Cayman S.

So true, though it seems like Honda and Toyata are up to something similiar, but with a little more style and power. Nissan did set the new trend, but let's see if they can keep up with the competition coming out in 2008-09.

Only the G35 is a Skyline (V35 Skyline), the JDM 350Z is called the Z33 Fairlady Z and is the spiritual successor to the old 300ZX, not the Skyline. That's what the "z" in the name means, it's the last in the Z-Car line that started with the 240Z.

Yes I know they are both FM platform and use VQ engines, so does the Murano, the name is all that counts ok?.....:)

It is nice to make an asian car to compare with the Vette .. :)

The evo X is in a completely different segment.

70K is cheap. It should have Porsche Turbo performance for half the price and you are complaining?

It will be Porsche performance .. not the Porsche TURBO performance .. ( unless the cayenne! ) It won't be 3.4 second 0-60mph ..

However, $70K will be a good price for it .. 2/3 price of a Cayman S .. and for sure way faster .. but still, it is a Nissan/Infiniti .... :(

One would hope that Nissan will stay true to the heritage of the Skyline being better than Porsche. The R33 Skyline went faster around the Ring than the comparable Porsche Turbo of the time. I believe the R34 did the same. I am hoping that this skyline will come close to the Turbo... hahaha

I can dream, can't I?

That pretty much sums up previous GT-R's (except you forgot the R32 also beat the 911's record on the 'ring).

C4S, it sounds like you're comparing the 911 Turbo / Cayenne / GT-R merely by 0-60 time. Previous GT-R's have held records on the 'ring over the current Porsche's at the time despite a lower "0-60" time. I don't see why the next GT-R wouldn't specifically target the 911 turbo in overall performance.

The Skyline is an awesome car.....However it looks tooo simular to the G35.
I would rather take a G35 put a wide body kit some big ass wheels add a twin turbo set up....some Coil Overs with Dampers and at the end the G35 will look hotter, probably run faster and still be cheaper.

I would way rather own a R34......

Thats Just my opinion, i think anyone who is planning to buy one of these cars should really think twice. I would way rather a porsche, corvette, or an NSX

^ It's the rarity of the car and the initial image it gives people that will instigate buyers. Not the aftermarket support.

But yea i would prefer a R34 too. :bigpimp:
