I just grabbed a Toshiba 37" LCD and was wondering about your opinions on product service plans on tv's of this sort.

37" isn't that expensive (about $1200-$1500) and is light enough that you probably don' t need in home service.

It's LCD, unlike plasma, so other than dead pixels, you probably don't have much to worry about.

how about prolonged using for console gaming or use as a monitor? can color wheels (?) and back lights die?

LCD has no burn in problem, that's plasma.

No color wheel, that's DLP projection.

Back light, it may but rare.

How much is the PSP anyway? If you're not sure, get one anyway. PSP from Vision is refundable as store credits if you didn't make a claim by end of the term. It's pretty good deal.

We are living in a dispoable electronic world right now. It usually take 3-4 years before unit start showing problem and by then, you can probably get something better, cheaper.
