1995 Mistubishi 3000GT SL, bought from the states and was everything I had hoped it to be and immaculate. Wanted something faster, built better and more practical which brought me to my current car.

Humm i would for sure say a honda for that amount, could just get a civic or an older like a 92 integra? then save up like 3 grand and get jdm source to put in a b16a or a b18b then it will be loads of fun.

1984 Camaro Z28 305, 1982 Mustang GT t-top. Both fun cars. Mustang was amazingly fun. Felt like a rocket for a 16year old.

 1978 Dodge Aspen w/a slant6, total cost of car and repairs, $500. Thing was gutless, but you can't kill a slant 6, and it was built like a tank, my only fault accident was with it, him: $3000 in damage, me: a dent the size of a dime in the chrome around the headlight.

b16a is the 2000 sir engine. its 1.6l vtec around 160 hp
b18b is the gsr engine, 1.8L vetec with 180 hp. Both amazing engines. Lots of fun.

Being a first car you are not want to many head acks and something that costs you alot becuase its unrealiable. althought old american cars could be fun, japanese is the way to go. good in winter, cheap to fix, reliable, easy to find parts. nice to drive.

You could also look a 1989-1990 ish toyota camry's, find a 5spd with the V6 its a pretty decent car and shouldn't set u back more than 3G.

gp36912
10-24-2006, 11:31 AM
for 3gs its not easy to find something thats gonna be reliable, though the camry idea might be your best bet.

my first car is my current car. bought it for 20gs (3 years of hard work) saved my ass off for it and not ive got 10gs extra spent on it.

I don't want a used car for my first car, maybe the reason only applies to me, since I don't have enough knowledge about vehicle, I would like to have warranty and someone is able to take care of my first baby

but it might also be a silly reason, cos you never learn too much knowledge while driving a brand new car with babysitter, and you probably never want to drive a used car after you have a new car

I don't know, haha, I just got my first car last week. SX4, with 3 year finance

1990 Honda Civic DX Sedan... only blown up the distributor once, the radiator thrice and the altenator needed replacing anyways. Apart from that, reliable as a wood burning stove :D Great handling, decent power, good clutch and stick to learn on if you are learning standard

I had a 92 mx6gt, wayyy overpaid 6grand for it when I was 17, drove it until this summer and sold it for 1800, but there was decent rust by now.
They're great first cars, decently cheap, good on gas (500km a tank city driving), even the non-turbo models are decently quick and are built like tanks. Easy to find engine parts since probes are everywhere in calgary

It wasn't blowing out the block heater that was the problem, it was the driving it around afterwards!

When I was 17 I bought my first car. It was a 1990 Mustang Coupe. A piddly 4cyl car i bought for 2700 bucks. 2 weeks later i was rear-ended by the courtesy driver from south center fine cars and it was totalled. Picked up an 89 Mustang coupe (4cyl again) for 3800 with no rust on at all, original paint. Made it look nice with a set of polished pony wheels, big wide tires. Had the stance of a clean 5.0L but alas it was dreadfully slow.

That lasted me a couple years until I started making some decent money. Bought a 2002 Mustang GT Convertible at 21, which I then traded in for my current 2005 Mustang GT Coupe early this year (can be seen in signature image).

Wow, time flys when you're having fun
