So, I dont know anything about BMW pricing. Basically this guy is selling a '92 E36 325is.

Its a 92' with 220 on it 95% highway driven by a doctor who was the first owner. Im the second owner. No rust anywhere(undersprayed every year), maintained well, replaced the guibo, drivers side door panel and rear shock tower mount. Its diamond schwartz with black leather seats, power everything(excpet for seats)but the seats are heated and a sun roof. Its got konig rims too. I absolutely love this car, still got plenty of kick, and im going to be real sad to see her leave me.
The condition is as immaculate as he stated. His dad is a BMW tech. What is a good price for it?

Looks like its in okay shape but its got high mileage and its got the ugly plastic trim. Probably $6500? There was one on here recently that was nicer than this one and sold for around the same price.

I bought my 92' 325is for $6500 2 years ago, and it was auto (manual now)

SO $6500 for that one is a good price.

Good luck,

I'll give him $5 + 24 pack :)

Nah just playin, I wouldn't pay more then $4000 for it as you can pick them up in similar shape for that much.

Booo.... this has no Vanos if I'm not mistaken?

But looks like in really nice shape.

I'd pay 6gs at the most for that but that's really pushing it.

I'll sell you mine! haha

Chris

i say $5000 the most, remember to check the common problems for a earlier e36, check on bimmerforums.com and maxbimmer.com for common problem so you can check them before buying. Off top of my head, the t-stathad problems on earlier e36's, also make sure electrical wise that its ok, beamers are known to have electrical ghosts. Also check that engine is running strong, they usually are good for over 300,000km's but depending on how hard he drove it before it might be in bad shape. Make sure to get test done at a bmw dealership before buying.

hah all BMWs have cooling problems, not just the first one. And although the engines are bulletproof in these cars, you'll have to remember that a first gen E36 will have its fair share of issues that will annoy you.

I'd say that's a really good price, they usually go anywhere from $8000 and up for decent ones. When you're dealing with cars that no longer register in the black books, the asking price/purchase price most likely depends entirely on the seller/buyer opinion of the car......

Thanks for the replies. Had a BMW junkie check it out and he also said that it was a excellent shape. The seller's dad is a BMW tech too, and said if anything out of the ordinary pops up, he can help out over time. Love the coupe look, Konig wheels and the fact that its manual. Will be looking to pay ~ $5,700. Fair price considering the condition and mileage?

(btw. this car is in Ontario, but rust free. My brother is picking it up and we will be driving it down here then might swap for the Celica)

Black book for a '94

What? Are you guys serious? Have any of you actually tried to find one of these cars in Alberta? I bought my 92 325IS two years ago with 140k and in great shape for 10000. This was after a constant search for ANY 2 door BMW for over a year. This maybe a reasonable price for a car in Ontario but in Alberta the demand is rediculous! You could buy that car in Ont for 5k and turnaround and sell it in Alberta for over 8k NO PROBLEM! Look for similar cars in classified ads right now and I will guarantee the only ones that are under 8k are automatic, 4 door, or trashed. Stock E36 325IS can be easily as high as 13k for later models. Also, 220k is not high mileage for a 92, 220k is average mileage for a 97 at 25k a year.

That said, if this deal falls through, try searching in BC. Cars over there are much more reasonable, closer and rust-free; thats without undercoating the car every year. Always watch out for rust on eastern cars, there is a reason they sell so cheap.
