92 325 IS

How do you guess so accurately? .. how do you tell differences between years, and between a 325 and an m3?

Weapon_R

Has to be under 96 because of the grill and sidemarkers. I'll say a 1993 325is (no heated seats). Beautiful car though, looks like its in great shape!

Another suggestion, smoke or buy smoked front sidemarkers. They'll look nicer beside the smoked headlights and they'll match your fender markers.

Im going to get the 1 piece BMW headlights, i don't like the side markers standing out so much. What does the grille have to do with the year? are they not the same from 92-98?

It's in amazing shape actually, and it has really low kms for its year. I want to get the m3 spoiler, the 1 piece bmw headlights, i aready got an in dash dvd with nav. I also want to get the all white an red tail lights.

Anyone know all the signs to identify the difference between a 318,325, 328 ect from an m3? All i know of so far is the m3 bumpers and skirts, the badge on the trunk, the seats, the shifter has an M on it, the door sills say m3 on them, i think the steering wheel is different on some of them, and of course the "M power" on the engine cover, and the 3.0L compared to the 2.5L

Did i miss any?

msg me for some all red tails.

The 92-96 have thinner grills and different sidemarkers. A nice upgrade is to get the 97+ front end, which has wider (and nicer) grills.

Also, if its the ebay headlights ur talking about, please reconsider :poosie:

Other visual differences:
- Factory 17" wheels
- Door rub strips are wider and there's an M3 emblem on each side
- Side mirrors
- Rear valence
- Exhaust
- Special M colours, inside and exterior

1) DO NOT get 1 piece headlights... look really really bad srsly.
2) 97+ grills were a little wider (face-lift)
3) Don't get 1 piece headlights.
4) The side moldings also differentiate the 3's
5) Don't get 1 piece headlights.
6) Join www.bimmerforums.com for more info
7) Do not get 1 peice headlights
8) DC328is has a really nice m3 arched spoiler for sale.. teh hawt!
9) Congrats on the car!! very nice looking ACS e36 you have there!

i guess 93 325is

Get ZKW or DEPO headlights. Worth the money and they can be modded (http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=581632).

Does my car have the mirrors that an m3 would come with? The exhaust is m3 on mine. I was thinking that the interior would give it away more then anything else. I love the m3 seats. I wasn't aware that the strips are wider.

This car had the m3 factory 17" wheels, but now it has the AC Schnitzer 18" Wheels. I like them a lot better.

I never noticed a difference between grilles. They look the same too me.

Yes you have M3 mirrors.

hahaha WOW, i didnt think people were so offended by the lights, the ones i saw are a different then those, they didn't look ricey at all, and i thought it made the car look clean. Ill see if i can find that car again, so i can post a pic. The ones in the picture are ugly as hell.

1 piece headlights are a sin. Leave the ricer in you for the hondas and toyotas.

Buy some DEPOS with projectors and throw some HIDs in there. You can even get DEPOS with angel eyes but i'm not a fan. ZKW are 3 times more expensive and essentially the same deal as the DEPOS but slightly higher quality.

We got GERMAN red/clear tails in stock.
1 piece headlights do not fit well.
The ones you have on there are fine and look the best.

The AC Schnitzer rear bumper and skirt are by far the best looking for the E36 (besides M3 of course).
Plus, you see alot of M3 wannabe's.
I like the AC Schit better!

As FFF mentioned, ZKW or DEPO.
I'd prefer ZKW over DEPO

EDIT: I could be wrong but those looks like replica AC Schnitzer Type lll wheels. Did the seller say they were real?

Here's what the late-model grills look like. These are black ones from ebay which fit quite well.

As far as the interior goes, the M seats in a coupe are the "Vader" style. Easy to spot.

http://www.vinnymac-online.com/Pics/interior07.JPG

For M3 sedans and M3 Lux coupes, the seats appear more ordinary but you can always look for the three M colour stripes.

early style dash and no airbags, thin grills so older than 96
no side markers - older than 95
6 cyl but the 2.8 didn't come till 96 so its 2.5, plus visually - different intake manifold, valve cover, oil filler

that steering wheel was mostly on very early e36 so guessed 92-94

been around long enough to learn a thing or two about these cars
