I know of a Mazda RX2 or RX3 for sale, 2 door, looks to be early to mid 70's. My question is it worth picking this car up cheap to restore/modify? It is kinda buried in a yard so I can't say how it is body wise nor if it is a 2 or 3. A quick check on e-bay turned up a suprisingly small amount of parts so that concerns me. What kind of potential do they have? Is it a waste of time? Thanks for any input.

Parts will be the hardest thing to find IMO. Check out www.rx7club.com, they have a section just for rx-2's and rx-3's. You might get a little more info there.

you'd be better off buying my project '90 FC GXL...lots of parts and lots more knowledge out there.

The aussies have been building and modifying them for years. You can use 13b rotary parts and turn it into a nice car. The biggest problem I think would be if the body is in poor condition.

if you like em it's worth every penny invested but be ready to invest a hell of alot depending how the body is. a 13b can be had cheap as hell though

There is a 808 (Rx-3 with Piston motor) for sale in the bargin finder for cheap - would make a nice parts car to go with the Rx-3. I'd love to see some pics. And if you pass ... I kinda have a whole burning in my pocket for another interesting car. :D

Wasn't home-will keep trying. (Good news is that it's a runner-daily driver).
