replacing work phone

I need to replace the work phone that I destroyed a few months back, and now that I'm leaving this company, they decided to get around to making me replace it.. What all is involved in that? Can I just buy a used one and get my old number transfered to it? provided it isn't stolen or something? Gonna be looking for a mike phone the i355 or the older model... Pdl wanted 400 for it and the case, and next to that I found one in van for around the 300
