Darn pothole. Watch out for this monster. Right by the Rogers video in Silver Springs.

Anyone know the number to call to report it to the city?

Looks like I'm taking a trip over to Alberta Wheel Repair tomorrow.

Should be around $150 - 175 to fix. I had one of my stock rims that was in worse shape repaired for $150.

they most likely wont pay for it. i had damage from a pot hole last year, both tires on the passenger side needed to be replaced, the person that responded to me from the city of calgary pretty much laughed in my face...

I'm curious.. what's the process to repair dented rims? And does it get back to looking like new again?

Theres a couple of huge ones forming on deerfoot northbound under the 16 ave or 32 ave bridge. Middle and fast lane. The road is all torn up and in chunks, just filling the hole.

I dont see why they just cant fix it once and make it last. Last time they fixed it, probably like a month or a bit more ago they filled it in with that black asphalt shit, and it was back to the same pothole like 3 days later. They also just made one of those black strips that go across the road (like the one near rogers) on the turn to my house! Bastards!

Because the City of Calgary is too cheap to use the real, high quality stuff. But yah... I know what you mean - cheap ass mofo's! lol

Depending on weather conditions and demand for pot hole repairs, they sometimes have to use a cold mix, which doesn't last as long. If you think the city doesn't repair potholes fast enough or often enough, in 2001 they repaired more than 21,000 potholes! :)

my god.... thats crazy... i'm not trying to offend (since internet is bad with tone) but does the wheel quality matter in this case... would any other wheel just go through the same thing? cause i was thinking of buying some nice wheels, but if calgary is still like this i think i should just stay with the stockers....

ouch. There are a few other potholes you guys should watch out for. They are in a big cluster. They start at the SK/AB border and end at the SK/MB border. I guess you could say Saskatchewan is one big pothole:D

theres a bigass pothole-in-development a block from my house.. its half a lane wide and its gettin deeper i can feel it.. i always slow down when i drive thru there even with stock height on my car.. the city patched up about 1/5th of it on one side of the road.. i dont get it.. so now one tire goes straight while the other dips

Let us know what the city is going to do about paying to get that shit fixed.... I mean we pay for this shit NOT to happen with our hard earned taxes....

CLiVE
05-23-2003, 04:38 PM
The cost of the wheel repair was $170+tax.

After I filed my complaint about the pothole, (with pics of the rim) the roads department gave me a call, and told me to file a claim, and directed me to a person at the claims department. It sounds like it shouldn't be a problem to get them to pay for it. (at least from my conversations thus far...)

The pothole has also been repaired, yesterday I believe...
They also called me yesterday too see if my claim had been taken care of.
