You spelt dziekuje wrong though :p (no N, just the e with the thing under it) Haha it's because his Kazakhstani is actually Polish and some other stuff (at least those two words are Polish) and that happens to be my first language (technically....I speak it fluently, and as far as I'm told in Poland, with no recognizable accent other than "Krakowski")

thats the sad thing. i've loved the borat skits for the longest time, and have been looking forward to the movie for like a year but now that it is about to come out it kinda sucks. now everybody and their dog will be impersonating him...etc..

sucks that its going main stream :dunno:

Just came back from seeing the movie. Friggin' hilarious.

My only complaint is that he doesn't stay on topic for too long, like the TV show. He doesn't embarass people enough, I don't think anyway.

But still, a fucking riot of a film. Definitely a must see!

And to comment on the above ^, I would assume that he is killing off the Borat character, but possibly he will lay low for a while. Who knows?

Actually, there seems to be a political intention behind this movie. The guy is going to ruin the establishment of Kazakhstan in order to mess up the ongoing Oil deals between the USgvt and the gvt of Kazakhstan. The government of Kazakhstan invested an equivalent of 70,000,000 CAD in order to create a movie that opposes the statements made by Borat. It was a weird situation when the embassador of Kazakhstan met Bush after the first movie ads came out a couple weeks ago .

Yes, there are people around that take that shit serious.

Besides of that, Borats movie is also a funny event here in Europe

I agree. I was hoping that it would be abit more like the show. i.e., more interviews and more people harassed. I wonder if some of it is staged though like near the end (wont ruin the ending) but with the bag. wouldnt he get arrested for that?

Nothing to do with censorship. They're only playing it in like 800 theaters throughout north america and none of those are in saskatchewan. Apparently they're testing it in larger cities then we might get it.

This flick was a huge letdown. I laughed a lot more at Jackass 2. I'd give it a 4-5/10. Certainly not the "funniest movie ever made" or even "funniest movie of the year" that it's being made out to be. "Genuine chocolate face" was hilarious, as well as some other parts, but I wouldn't be able to take someone seriously if they said it was the funniest movie ever made.

Gets a shrug of the shoulders from me.

Naughty naughty.

there were a few good parts, but i think a lot of it was way over the edge, he drilled at the things that most ppl wud find offensive, and the stuff that i thought was funny he only touched on teh surface and then moved on to the next joke

and his voice got annoying about halfway through

and fuck, that was a bit too much fat and hair and gayness...so gross:barf:

the rodeo director or whatever was awesome tho, he was so racist, talk about totally getting caught on camera, so much bs he said...

This is a real letter to the editor from Newsweek, 10/30/06.

I am one of Sacha Cohen's many victims. Because his handlers told me he was Borat, a TV journalist, I booked him for a live studio interview on our morning show thinking he was legitimate. I checked out his PR company's web site and met his publicists in person. They seemed genuine. But once the camera was on him, this man destroyed our credibility in short order. Because of him, my boss lost faith in my work. I spiraled into depression and before I could recover I was released from my contract. It took me 3 months to find another job and now I'm thousands of dollars in debt and in danger of losing my home. How upsetting that a man who leaves so much harm in his path is lauded as a comedic genius. Think of all the other people who have been fired because of his antics.

Yeah obviously Borat's a real sh*t disturber, and his jokes were obscene and highly offensive, but what do you expect when you're walking into a movie like this?

Personally, I had a great time and thought the movie was hilarious, and I'll definitely be buying this movie when it comes out. In my opinion, it was a LOT funnier than Jackass 2, but I suppose this type of movie was more my taste.

I wouldn't recommend this movie to those who are republican, neo-conservative, uptight about being Jewish or highly religious. But everyone else, you'll have the time of your lives!! =)

Boo hoo.... No sympathy here!
Someone invites a nationally recognized character into your company to make the whole outfit look like a joke. You'd fire him too.

I've seen all his interviews.... These people are either completely ignorant to the situation, or they see it and choose to patronize 'Borat'.
If he happens to expose you as a complete retard, too bad.
I'm astounded by the amount of people who choose to get angry and argue with him. Or people who get offended to an infinite emotional degree. Nobody has the sense of mind to calmly realize they've been had, and walk out of the room silently.

I think they meant the cheese part where he's eating cheese with the governement guy and tells him it is made with breast milk. The look on the guy's face is priceless. In all I found this movie extremely offensive yet funny. I guess mission accomplished. You really can't be too serious about this. I could have done without the scene with him and Azmat wrestling as funny as it was, I had nightmares about it after!:barf:

This guy Haggerty, who was in the movie, said it best:

"They were exercising a First Amendment right," said Haggerty, adding that he enjoyed the movie. "And this Sacha Cohen guy's going to make 87 gazillion dollars. You know, good for him. I'm just sorry that he had to do it in such a way that he allowed people to make jerks out of themselves exposing their character flaws."

Watched immediately. Quite good.
Very few RoFL and much more cringe than original. The daughter is really the star. She was amazing.
I pray to Azamat Bagatov that the black lady was a real person and not an actress. It would be such a nice touch if she was real.

Watched last night. Thought that guliani scene was going to be fireworks. Literally nothing. Stupid MSM creating false narratives again.

I wonder what the crossover is between people who think Dane Cook is funny and people who think Borat is funny.

The only article I read about that had me scratching my head. An attractive mid-20's girl invites him to her hotel room after drinks and he gets turned on, no shit.
