Can't PnP an xbox hard drive without a mod chip if you don't know your xbox's lock code, plus the new drive needs to be unlocked (thus my question) so you can relock it with your xbox's code.

ok one xbox was modded with the orginal HD installed
the other was pulled before the xbox was modded . i dont know which one is which

Hmm... so the one in the modded xbox MIGHT have had the hard drive unlocked, the other one, probably not. If they're not unlocked they're pretty much useless except maybe for parts.
