Rotors, I can buy OEM or "knockoff" OEM replacements along w/ brake pads

OR

I could purchase an upgraded Rotor, like a cross drilled brembo or something....

I'm just not to keen on spending like $500/rotor?!

Does anyone know of any companies that make good brake systems or at least rotors that are cross drilled or slotted that aren't going to "brake" the bank?

Url's to the companies webpages would be appreciated along w/ experiences if you ppl have tried em out.

Oh and I have stock 16's now, and will only upgrade to a 17 (maybe) so the rotors have to be large enough, yet small enough to get in w/ my wheels... :dunno:

oh ya, the car they'll be going on is a 1984 Datsun/Nissan 300zx w/ the 5 bolt pattern! (If that makes any difference!)

my kvr's cost me like 95 a piece. Cheaper than stock, and they seem to work better too.

BTW - I'm not sure on this , but what is better and WHY??? Slotted or Cross drilled?

I've heard good about both, not too sure myself though. Ask some of the autocross guys on here.

cross-drilled is useless unless you have oem factory crossdrilled.... they're too prone to cracking, i've seen/heard many cases of this happening. slotted is alright, but the problem with those, i've heard is they wear down a lot quicker than conventional rotors.

Are you saying my best bet is to buy replacement oem rotors?!

Are calipers/disc's compatable between the first gen and second gen 300zx's ?

Ya, they're interchangeable... with just a lil' work, but it's not to bad...

By the sounds of it, replacing my brake system w/ a larger newer 300zx brake system should be good....

Although the Z33's Brembo system is something thats appealing too.:drool:
