Just wondering if anyone would be able to tell me how to burn a dvd movie (and from mpeg) and let me know what program to use? thanks.

i currently have nero ultra 6.x and dvd shrink, so if possible using those programs but open to suggestions.

dvd shrink should work fine, if your running into problems, get your hands on AnyDVD. It just runs in the background so you can run DVDshrink without any problems.

Its what i use

dvd shrink is the cheapest (free) and easiest way to back up a dvd.
needs the latest AnyDVD software running in the background though for the latest dvd encryptions

If you have Nero you are set. I use Nero all the time.

If your backing up a dvd, DVD Shrink is the program to use.

If your burning a disc img file, I would use DVD Decrypter.

While you are learning, you should checkout:

DVD Shrink is getting old now, there is probably professional quality software out there you could find out about in these forums.

Best program currently is DVDFabDecryptor

THen if you need to shrink it to 1 4.7 gig disk, use DVDshrink.

Going from AVI to DVD is a problem.... I ahve tried a lot, and they seem to be buggy and really slow, and often fuck up the voice to video sync... I just tried AVI2DVD and though the quality is the best so far, it is frikkin slow (3 to 6 hours per movie!!), and knocks out my internet while its working

You should try VirtualDub to fix your sync problems, it can also process avi files.

I use AVE-Mux Gui 1.17.5 (http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=AVIMux_GUI)
to extract the audio and then convert/burn using VSO ConvertXtoDVD (http://www.vso-software.fr/products/convert_x_to_dvd/). I haven't had any problems using these at all.

i just use nero vision express
load the file whatever it is avi or mpeg and select a couple settings and hit burn it will encode it and burn it. A full movie takes about an hour to encode and burn.

dvdsanta works great for burning. nice and fast, good quality..
i use another conversion program because i get an error message with dvdsanta????? anyone know why?

one more question, most of my dvds work fine, but on one of them i got an error message on my home dvd player saying that the "area perimiters are too big and it cannot play"
does anyone know hoe to correct this???
