Alrighty, I know the subject of venting the BOV to atmostphere has been beat to death, but there are soooo many people saying sooo many different things.

I went to DSMtalk.com and searched the forums and about 50% say you shouldn't and the other 50% say its ok for your car.

Does anybody on here know for sure? I'm really not gonna risk fucking up my car just to make some crazy sounds.

And will I ever be able to find a cold air intake for a 1G?
I dont even think they exist.

It wont mess anything up but if you have a 1g, venting the BOV with a stock air meter and stock ECU doesn't seem to work too well. Your car will stall out at lights and buck when getting on the gas at high rpms. It'll also run rich between shifts, causing a bog. You can make it a little better by crushing the stock blow off valve, but for the most part, venting doesn't work so hot with 1g's.

And there are CAI kits for the 1G but it's cheaper and easier to do the filter can hack mod and build something around the can to keep engine heat out.

Venting is strictly for ricers - don't do it. ;)

Sweet deal, what about the intakes though?

you can vent to the atmostphere if you get a standalone/ vpc or blowthru GM mafs conversion if you really want to. but if you keep the bov vented to the intake it will help the turbo spool between shifts.

Bottom line imho, is if you're not using a MAP sensor, don't vent to atmosphere. Makes sense, cause on a MAF, you're venting already metered air, so you'll always get some degree of rich condition when you vent.
